What took place during these days went far beyond a typical training. It was a meaningful experience that helped young people better understand their calling to serve. Through engaging sessions, participants explored the mission and values of SU Burundi, discovered different areas of ministry, and learned how to communicate messages that truly reach and impact others.
At the heart of the training was a powerful theme: “Being a Person of Value.” Volunteers were reminded that true Christian service is rooted in humility, love, faithfulness, perseverance, and dependence on God. More importantly, they saw how these values can be lived out in practical ways—both in their personal lives and in their communities.
The sessions were interactive and reflective, giving each participant the opportunity to think about their talents and how they can use them to serve others. For many, this was a moment of renewed clarity and purpose. Their passion for service was rekindled, along with a strong desire to act on what they had learned.
One participant, Igiraneza Chanceline from the Centre-East region, shared her experience:
“Before attending these volunteer orientation sessions, I did not know SU Burundi well, nor did I fully understand what it means to be a volunteer. After studying these lessons, I understood the vision, mission, objectives, and principles of the organization. I also realized that volunteering is not a waste of time or working for free—God rewards the work we do for Him. Now, I will carry out my tasks with confidence, knowing that I serve within an organization that supports and values me.”
By the end of the training, one thing was clear: these young volunteers are ready to serve with commitment and purpose. They left encouraged and equipped, with a deeper understanding that their engagement is not just for a moment, but part of a lifelong journey of faithful service.
We are deeply grateful for their openness, energy, and willingness to serve. Their dedication is a powerful sign of hope—a generation ready not only to grow in faith, but to bring lasting transformation to their communities.
