Mini Camps Across the Entire Country of Burundi

The Scripture Union Burundi organized an exceptional mini-camp across the country, spanning its four branches: South, West, Centre-East, and North. This gathering brought together young people from diverse backgrounds for an unforgettable experience focused on reflection, spiritual growth, and camaraderie.

The event, rich in teachings, was centered around the theme "My Future, My Responsibility", encouraging each participant to look forward to the future with determination while recognizing the importance of their present choices and actions.

I am Kubwimana Christella, a second-year science student at Lycée Buhiga. While reflecting on my future responsibilities, I realized the importance of preserving my reputation by avoiding harmful behaviors. I learned that my habits shape my future, and I became aware of my value as a being created in God's image. This has boosted my self-esteem and given me confidence in my actions. From now on, I am committed to adopting good habits and encouraging others to do the same so that they can also reach their goals.

Key topics were addressed during this training. Obedience to parents and authorities highlighted the importance of listening and respect, both at home and in society, for the collective well-being. Young people also reflected on love without regret, learning how to build healthy and respectful relationships, away from emotional traps and harmful influences.

The theme of fighting against false teachings allowed participants to develop critical thinking in the face of misleading ideas, affirming their faith by staying true to biblical truths.

These teaching moments were interspersed with times of worship, where the youth shared their faith through inspiring songs, and community meals, strengthening bonds of fellowship and conviviality. The atmosphere was marked by deep solidarity, where everyone could exchange, enrich each other’s experiences, and leave with hearts full of new aspirations.

This mini-camp was not just an opportunity for spiritual learning, but a real stepping stone for Burundian youth, enabling them to understand that their future is in their hands and that their responsibility is to build a strong future, illuminated by divine principles. Each participant left with practical tools to grow in their faith and face life’s challenges, becoming an agent of change in their community.
