Volunteer Orientation Course in Bujumbura Mairie

From September 4th to 6th, the Scripture Union Burundi organized an orientation course for its 129 volunteers of the western region. The goal of this program was to encourage participants to faithfully serve Jesus Christ while familiarizing them with the platform they use for this mission: Scripture Union Burundi. During these sessions, volunteers not only learned about the history, mission, and doctrinal principles of Scripture Union, but they also explored how to better guide Bible Study Groups.

They delved into a structured module designed to lead young people in their faith, ensuring that each meeting is organized in an edifying way, while upholding Christian foundations. Scripture Union Burundi stressed the importance for each volunteer to be not only well-trained but also spiritually prepared, in order to teach God's word with discernment and integrity.

The volunteers expressed their gratitude for this orientation course. “I particularly appreciated how we were guided in preparing teachings for the youth,” said one participant. Another added, “This course allowed me to discover more about Scripture Union Burundi compared to previous years.” Another testimony highlighted the importance of proper preparation before teaching, saying, “I now feel better equipped to serve and share the Gospel in Bible Study Groups.”

The activities concluded with a prayer and a family photo, symbolizing the unity of the volunteers in their shared mission. Scripture Union Burundi continues to train its volunteers with strong commitment, encouraging them to serve with love and method, while remaining faithful to the teaching of God's word
